I'm cooking this today

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place garlic and onion in the bowl and chop 3 seconds speed 5

  2. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and add bacon and oil. Sauté 2 mins, 100C speed 1.

  3. Add chopped mushrooms and sauté for a further 2 mins, 100C, counter-clockwise operationGentle stir setting

  4. Add beef, cook 5 mins,  varoma temp, counter-clockwise operationGentle stir setting

  5. Add 1 tin tomatoes, tomato paste and parsley.

  6. Cook 60mins (less if using good cut of meat, but this is adequate for cheap cuts to tenderise) 100C counter-clockwise operationGentle stir setting

  7. Add zucchini with 5 mins to go and balsamic with 1 min to go.

  8. Place in thermoserver or casserole dish and allow to stand while cooking gnocchi.

  9. Stir gnocchi through once cooked and serve with a sprinkle or fresh parsley or Parmesan.

Tip

Can be frozen without the gnocchi. Any vegetable can be added, I have made with baby spinach, green beans, zucchini and green peas....always add in the last 5 mins to avoid going mushy.

Note that mushrooms disintegrate in the cooking and will be a "hidden" vegetable for the kids tmrc_emoticons.;)

Soft, juicy steak! Brilliant recipe. I used a fresh diced tomato, a heaped Tbsp of vegie stock and 1/2 cup of water instead of canned tomatoes. Also added a clove of garlic and two stalks of celery with the onion and added 1/2 a tin of chick peas and fresh thyme & parsley with the steak. Delicious!

I use store bought gnocchi. Which you boil in water like pasta. sorry your kids didn't like it, maybe they would eat it with pasta If you only put a little bit on it, it is a strong flavour. Thanks for the feedback!
