Ingredients

Pie Filling

  • 700g rump steak cut into 2.5 cm cubes
  • 2 carrots - cut into 3/4 pieces
  • 1 onion - halved
  • 2 tablespoons TM vegetable stock
  • 25g plain flour
  • pepper to taste
  • Puff Pastry or TM Rough Puff
  • 1/2 can lager beer

Recipe's preparation

    Pie Filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.

    Put the carrots into the TM bowl - chop for 5 secs on speed 5.  Add the onion and chop speed 5 for 3 secs.  Add the chopped up beef, stock, beer and seasoning and cook for 20 mins 100 degreesGentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting" Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation"

  2. Once cooked, leave to cool.

  3. Line pie dish with pastry and add filling

  4. Bake in the oven for 20-25 mins until golden brown.

Tip

Serve with mashed/boiled potatoes and veg that you can cook in your Varoma while your pie is cooking !!!

    I made this tonight but made changes. I had onion, carrot & garlic and sautéed fort 2 mins. Added the rest of the ingredients with splosh of worsteshire, tbsp Tom paste & 120g beer. It had a good flavor and everyone enjoyed.

    How much beer do you use what size can to get half as my can was 500ml and 250ml seems to much

    What a hit! Hub has asked for mini ones to take to work! Had no carrot, but added sliced mushroom with 8mins cook time left. Used "great northern", as that's "the beer from up here". Thanks Angela.
