Ingredients

Spag Bog All in One

  • fresh herbs optional, Choice of parsley, oregano,rosemary,sage and marjoram
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 brown onion, choppped in half
  • 40 grams olive oil
  • 600 grams rough chopped veggies
  • 500 grams beef mince or steak
  • 400 gram tin of tomatoes, diced
  • 2-3 tablespoons BCB vegetable stock paste
  • 200 grams tomato puree
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Recipe's preparation

    Method
  1. If using steak - mince meat by having frozen or partially frozen steak cut into 4 cm blocks. Add to bowl. Chop 5 -10 seconds speed 6. Check through lid for desired texture. Not too fine. Set aside and wash and dry bowl.

    Add fresh herbs of choice to bowl if using and the garlic chop 3 seconds sp 7.

    Add onion 3 seconds sp 5.

    Scrape bowl down and add oilve oil. Sautee 4 minutes at Varoma  MC off.

    Add veggies of choice - carrot/zucchini/sweet potato/capsicum/mushrooms/celery/stalks from broccoli and/or cauliflower/peas/corn.  Note maxs 600 grams in total. 

    Chop 4-5 seconds speed 5. 

    Scrape down bowl. 

    Add mince on top.  Tip tin of tomatoes on top.

    Add stock paste, puree, pepper and worcestershire sauce.

    DO NOT STIR. 

    Put lid on, cup in and cook for 45-60 min at 100 degrees, reverse, speed spoon. 

    When done tip into Thermoserver and break up any larger pieces of mince with a fork. 

     

Tip

Spag Bog mince can be used with pasta, to make lasagne, on a baked or mash potato, as sheppards pie base, as filling for a savoury pancake topped with cheese sauce. 

Freezes well.
