Ingredients

Burgers

  • 1 can KIDNEY BEANS
  • 5 sundried tomatoes, OR 1 TBS Tomato Paste
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoon Dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 Cup Spring Onion, Chopped
  • 1/4 cup capsicum, chopped, (Optional)
  • 1/3 Cup Kalamata Olives
  • 2/3 cup oats
  • Corn Flour, For Coating
  • neutral oil, For Frying

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place all ingredients, except the oats in TM Bowl and blend at Speed 7/3 Sec 

    Scrape sides and repeat if neccessary.

    Add Oats and mix at Speed 2, scraping sides when neccessary, until well combined.

    Place mixture in fridge and allow to firm 30 minutes 

    Form the mixture in to patties and coat with corn flour.

    Heat oil in fry pan and fry until brown.

    Make sure the oil is well heated otherwise the corn flour will turn pasty instead of browning.

    Add more oil when flipping if neccessary.

    These are so tasty. I did find the mix too soft, so I added some breadcrumbs to the mixture. They cooked very well without falling apart. Definitely will be making them again.

    Delicious recipe - added a few mushrooms, 1/2 carrot, 1/2can lentils no flour, running short of time, so didn't have time to leave them for 30 mins, so brushed with oil and topped with breadcrumbs and cheese, baked for 30 mins. Perfect, will definitely try as sausage rolls thank you

    For someone who has eaten meat for 30 years, these were GREAT!! I was half expecting id toss them in the bin 😂 but they were delicious!! Even my partner who will 100% eat meat his whole life, said they were really good. Great tip for having HOT oil! The crunchy bits were the BEST! I think i have to add, these patties cost no more than about $1 for six patties 😲😲😲 if i were to use cheap mince it woukd be $5 give or take. Im beyond impressed 👌 my tip for meat eater trying these out, keep the patties thin and use a spatula, keep enough space to safely flip. If you use tongs they will fall appart 😂 definitely give them ago!

    Also, i left out the olives and capsicum as i didnt have any because we dont like them.

    This was great! I didn't have red beans and was worried about substituting chickpeas but they worked out beautifully. Loved that they weren't sweet as so many vegan recipes are.
    I also took out the garlic as I have to follow the FODMAP diet - still a great taste!
    The corn flour worked well for frying, however I used grapeseed oil and it started to burn and stink out the kitchen so only managed to fry 2 patties fully. Have browned the other 2 and will put in the oven to finish cooking. Thanks for the recipe!

    Easy and delicious for the whole family. A great flavour combination that was a lovely change from the usual cumin, coriander mix. I used Panko Crumbs and they worked a treat. Thanks for sharing!

    Delicious but very soft, didn't hold together well. I used rolled oats, and I'm thinking that using quick oats (or milling oats finer) will probably have a better result. You could eat the mixture (without oats) as a dip, it's very good!
