Recipe's preparation

  1. Using butterfly whisk, put cooked potatoes, butter, salt and 80g of the flour into tm bowl.

If using leftover mash just add mash and flour.

Mash for 30 sec speed 3.

Scrape down and give another 10 sec if needed. Depending on type of potatoes/mash consistency you may need to add a splash of milk. You want it to be a dough-like consistency.

Place dough-like mixture onto well floured mat and half. Working with half at a time gently hand flatten into a circle. Use the leftover flour to sprinkle over the dough to make it workable.

Heat a dry frying pan on a high heat (mine is 27cm) and place the floured circle inside the pan. Very carefully use a spatula to flatten circle gently so it is the same size as the frying pan.

Cook for 5-6 mins then turn and repeat on other side.

I used a plate to tip it out and flip it.

Repeat with other half of the “dough”.

Cut circles into quarters and store in a tub in the fridge. When ready to use place into a hot oiled pan and fry for a few mins each side.

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
