Ingredients
Simple Cheesy Rice
- 200 grams Jasmine rice
- 60-80 grams tasty cheese, cubed
- 1 level tablespoon Corn Flour
- 500 grams cold water
- 250 grams cream
- 1 level tablespoon veggie stock paste
- 100 grams Milk
- 1/4 level teaspoons sweet paprika
- 1/4 level teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1/4 level teaspoons white pepper
- salt to taste

- Weigh the rice into the simmering basket and rinse with cold water. Set aside.
- Put the cheese and cornflour into the TM bowl and grate 6 seconds speed 8 mc on. Transfer to a small bowl and set aside. Do not clean bowl.
- Put the water, cream and vegetable stock into the TM bowl. Insert the simmering basket containing the rice.
Cook for 15-17 minutes Varoma speed 4, MC on. - Once tha rice is cooked to your liking, lift the simmering basket out of the TM bowl using your spatula and transfer the rice to a prewarmed thermoserver bowl and cover with the lid.
- Add the paprika, mustard, pepper, milk and reserved cheese to the remaining liquid in the TM bowl and cook for 3 minutes 100 degrees speed 4, MC on.
Pour aprox half the sauce over the rice and stir well, leave to rest for a few minutes as it will thicken.
Add more sauce to your liking, stiring well each time.
Salt to taste.

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
