Recipe's preparation

    Choc apple cake
  1. Melt butter on 60 degrees for 2 mins on speed 2.

  2. Add sugar, vanilla, apple and water and heat at 60 degrees for 2 mins on speed 2.

  3. Add bicarb soda and mix for 5 secs on speed 2.

  4. Add flour and cocoa and mix for 10 secs on speed 4. Use spatula to scrape down sides if required.

  5. If desired, ice with chocolate frosting, ganache or hazelnut chocolate spread (all recipes available in EDC).

  6. Pour into a lined 20cm round cake tin and bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 degrees for 35 minutes.

Tip

Delicious served warm with cream or a scoop of icecream and berrries.

This eggless chocolate cake freezes very well and is always a favourite at children's parties.

For a slight variation on the theme, reduce the apple by 100g and add a banana (added to the TM bowl at the same time as the apple - blend for 5 secs on 6).

Great cake!! Loved by the whole household, will definitely make again may do muffins for lunch boxes as someone else suggested. Reduced sugar to approx 150g, used 400g tinned apple from the cupboard and half an old banana from the bottom of the fridge. Thanks for a great recipe.

Delicious and so light and moist Love Substituted the butter with rice bran oil and reduced sugar and turned them into muffins for kids lunch boxes. Still amazing outcome - family loved these!!

One of the best egg free cakes I have made. Didn't last long in our house.
