This recipe looks so versatile. Can't wait to make all sorts of variations using this method. Never thought to cook lovely legs in the Thermomix
I have found a new favourite!
I used the juice of 1 lemon and steamed broccoli and cauliflower in the Varoma while the chicken cooked. Also added red capsicum strips with the chicken. Loved that the prep was about 5 mins and 5he cooking time was 20!
Cooked this recently & wham!!! Such intense lemony deliciousness!! I reduced the time in the thermomix & finished off @180deg for 10 mins in the oven, because I had full drumsticks instead of lovely legs. Was jamming the blades. Will definitely be cooking this again!
Delicious
Definately a keeper! I would have never thought to cook chicken this way but it was given the tick of approval by 2/3 of my fussy kids (can never please all of them - the joys of parenting!). I only used 40gms of lemon juice and cooked the with the mc off, next time I might try leaving the mc off for the last 10 mins as the flavour was quite concentrated. I might try experimenting with different flavours using the same technique....thanks for a great recipe
I've made this a few times with both lovely legs and thigh fillets. It's always a hit.
I've also found it slightly too lemony so have reduced the amount slightly. You need to remember to reverse the blades - On one occasion I didn't and ended up with a shredded mess.
I really enjoyed this dish but like some others I think there is too much lemon, although I do like lemon. I cut it down to 80 g but will reduce to 60 g next time. I added chilli. I felt it was important to cook on varoma with MC off so that some liquid can evaporate and develop the colour and flavour. I will make this often as it is so easy and delicious. Thanks for sharing.
I made this with thigh fillets and they shredded. The colour did not develop. Luckily I was stir frying vegetables so I just poured the whole lot into the wok and finished it off as a shredded stir fry. Next time I will stick to the lovey legs .
Easy and tastes really good
These turned out surprisingly well in the Thermomix. I don't eat meat however our guests really enjoyed the legs served as a starter.
I have only had my thermomix since just before Xmas and was a little sceptical of cooking lovely legs in the mixing bowl but I gave it a go. I couldn't believe the result. The flavour was wonderful and I cooked vegetti in the varoma at the same time. I will definitely be cooking this again. I will try salt reduced soy sauce next time. Thankyou for sharing
