I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
Preparation:
Place the onion, garlic, mushrooms and butter into the TMX bowl and chop for 10 seconds on speed 5 then scrapedown sides and cook for 3 minutes at 100 degrees, speed 2
Place sausages in varoma tray (ensure they are not covering all of the vents).
Place vegies in varoma dish (once again check the vents).
Place the chopped potatoes into the rice basket.
Add stock, salt and pepper to the TMX bowl (I am generous with the pepper).
Place the rice basket into the TMX bowl and cook for 15 minutes at varoma temperature on speed 2.
Fit the varoma dish and tray onto the lid. Cook for 20 minutes at varoma temperature on speed 2
Remove the varoma and rice basket (the sausages and vegies are ready to serve). place veggies and sausages into Thermoserver.
If there is a build up of mushroom in the steamer basket scrape them into the TMX bowl. Add the cornflour and cook for 2 minutes at 100 degrees on speed 4 to thicken the gravy. If you like a thicker sauce then add a little more cornflour and cook again on 100 degrees on speed 4 for 2 minutesTo make mash you need to remove the gravy and rinse the TMX bowl (don't fuss too much about it though). Check that the potatoes are cooked until almost falling apart. If they are not cooked enough add them into your bowl with some milk and cook a little longer. If they are fully cooked add your butterfly, potatoes, a little bit of milk and a dob of butter. Mix on speed 3 until they reach your desired consistency.
Serve Potato on plate with veggies and sausages, then pour sauce over the top.

ReneTM5:I cook the sausages in fry pan about half cooked then wipe with paper towel to get rid of the fat and then pop into veroma with the vege... they look so much nicer

Absolutely loved this! Will definitely be making it again... however, I added about 2 grinds of salt (and about 4 grinds of pepper) but it was waaaaaay too salty. I’ll only add a pinch next time.
Not for us. We found the mushroom sauce quite bland even after adding a few extra ingredients to the gravy
I absolutely LOVE this recipe!! I make it with sweet potato mash! seriously a great recipe!!
Yes, for sure. You could do the sausages in the frying pan for that extra colour and flavour. When you are in a real hurry and not in the mood for more dishes, this way is a quick option and still tastes darn good, you will be surprised at the sausages in the steamer.
Glad you liked it TreeFrog. You will have to try with the mushies next time. Its pretty darn yumm
Glad you like it Freddie. Not too much of the magic mushies though hahaha
Just like mum used to make!
This was so delish!! i didn't have any mushies so we went without but it was still a huge thumbs up from everyone.
I used 10 thin sausages and fit them in the Veroma dish in a criss cross pattern to keep the airflow, and some peas in the upper tray. With the 750g of potatoes there was enough to feed my 5
this is going to be a regular on the dinner board
