Ingredients

Bolognese

  • 1 onion, Cut in half
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 stalks Celery, Cut into 3cm lengths
  • 1 --- carrot
  • 1 --- zucchini
  • 3 --- portabello mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 500 grams premium beef mince
  • 125 grams Port
  • 4 tablespoons Woirstershire sauce
  • 1 jar Pasta Sauce of choice
  • 100 grams water
  • 3 heaped tablespoons Basil Pesto
  • 1 heaped teaspoon dried mixed Italian herbs
  • 2 leaves Bay Laves
  • salt & pepper to tatse

Recipe's preparation

    Method
  1. 1. Place all veggies to TM bowl and chop SP 5 - 5-10 seconds depending on whether you like your veggies fine or coursely cut. Scrape down sides of bowl with spatula and add olive oil. Sauté for 6 mins / 120*C / speed 2 

    2. Add mince meat to TM bowl and stir to combine with veggies. Cook for 10 mins / 120*C / Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" / speed 2

    3. Add port, Woirstershire sauce, pasta sauce (put water into jar of pasta sauce and rinse out) then add to TM bowl, pesto, herbs, bay leaves and salt and pepper. Stir to combine then cook for 25 mins / 100*C / Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" / speed 2. Put simmering basket on lid instead of MC

    Serve with your favourite pasta, my picture is gluten free rainbow fusilli from Willunga pasta and shaved Parmesan cheese

    If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
    Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
