Ingredients

Scones

  • 515 g spelt flour
  • 5 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 60 g Butter
  • 300 g Milk
  • 2 tablespoon fresh ghives
  • 1 tsp dried mixed herbs
  • 100 g Tasty cheese
  • extra milk for brushing
  • butter to serve

Recipe's preparation

    Scones
  1. Preheat the oven to 200C fan forced.

     

    Grate cheese in bowl 8 secs, speed 5.

    Set aside in seperate bowl.

    Have blades spiining on speed 8 and drop fresh chives in to chop them up around 5 secs.

    Add flour, sugar, baking powder and salt and butter. Mix together 15 secs speed 6 or until mixture resembles bread crumbs.

    Add dried herbs, milk and cheese. Mix reverse speed 6 for 10 secs.

    Knead for 1 min.

    Roll out 3cm thick.

    Cut out scones.

    Brush with extra milk.

    Bake for 15-20 min until golden and hollow when tapped.

    Serve with butter
