Recipe's preparation

  1. Line 2 baking trays and preheat oven to 180°c.

Place diced cheese into bowl.  Grate Spd 9 for 10 seconds.  Reserve in a separate container.  Do not bother to wash the bowl.

Place onion in bowl, chop speed 6 for 3-4 seconds.  Add egg and milk and mix 10 seconds speed 5.

Add reserved cheese, chives, bacon, flour and salt and pepper.  Mix on reverse Speed 3 until combined.

Place teaspoonfuls of dough onto tray.  You can top with a little extra cheese or a sprinkle of paprika if desired.

Bake 15-20 minutes until golden.  Yum!

Tip

Serve warm or cold!  Even though they are not as thick as a scone they can be split and buttered.

Great for for lunchboxes, after school snacks or served with Pumpkin Soup!

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Absolutely delicious! We didn't add extra cheese, and they still tasted great. Ate them with minestrone and the flavours worked brilliantly together. Definitely adding to the favourites list.

Really yummy, I added fried shallots and garlic. Next time I will experiment with other fillings like sundries tomatoes.
