Ingredients

  • 1 large carrot, sliced
  • 1 zucchini
  • 1 apple
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 4 tbsp Barbecue Sauce
  • 250 g Sausage Mince
  • 500 g pork mince
  • 4 Sheets Puff Pastry, cut in half
  • tomato sauce

Recipe's preparation

  1.  Wash  carrots and cut off ends (no need to peel). Grate in TM 10 secs, speed 8.

  2. Add apple (cored but no neeed to peel), garlic, zucchini (and any other veggies you want to hide from the kids) to carrot in TM bowl and grate for a further 5-10 secs, speed 8

     

  3. Remove half of grated veggies

     

  4. Add 1 eggs, 1/2 bread crumbs (half cup), 1/2 bbq sauce (2 tbsp), 1/2 meat to 1/2 grated veggies, Mix 15 sec, speed 4

     

  5. Remove mixture from TM and place into a mixing bowl

     

  6. Add remaining veggies and ingredients in step 4 and repeat step 4.

     

  7. Place all mixture in bowl and check consistency and mix if needed with TM Spatula, if too moist add more bread crumbs.

     

  8. Create egg wash with remaining egg.

     

  9. Cut pastry sheets in half and spoon meat along pastry sheet lenghways 2 cms away from one long edge.    

     

     

     

     

    Top meat with tomoto sauce. 

  10. Roll edge closest to meat over and continue to roll stopping to brush egg wash along remaining edge to seal.

    Continue to roll to form a long sausage roll. 11.

    Repeat on remaining pastry sheets.

     

  11. Cut each roll into approx 4-6 pieces, or as desired. 

  12. Place on baking tray lined with baking paper and brush along top with 'egg wash' 

     

  13. Bake in oven 200 fan forced for 30mins or until golden brown.

Tip

Great cold for school lunches
Freeze uncooked and can be cooked straight from freezer later.

    Delish and so easy, I use beef and pork mince with lots of vegies.  Thank you for the tip, I freeze some.

    yummo.  I made these and ran out of pastry so used the left over filling to make patties. The family will demand more of these in future.

    I made these tonight for my family for dinner.  Yummo is the word.  Even my Miss fuss pot 5 year old gobbled them down.

    tmrc_emoticons.;) thanks for sharing this recipe it is so good. Made one lot and they disappeared so had to make more again today. I added a onion with all other ingredients. Won't be buying sausage rolls anymore.

    OMG I love these. So far I have "These are the best ever mum", followed by "these are too yummy for me mum!"...and the third one hasn't even drawn breath! Great instructions on how to roll them too which helped based on my last attempts prior to Thermie. tmrc_emoticons.)

    These sausage rolls were the best we have ever eaten. Yum! Yum! Will definitely be making many more times.

    Added onions, capsicum and 2 cups of breadcrumbs.  Used beef mince and 6 sheets of pastry.

    Just delicious. Hubby, son and I all loved these. So packed full of good stuff yet moist and tasty like the store bought naughty version
