Recipe's preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 160°
Prepare baking tray with either baking paper or silicone oven mat.

Add sourdough discard to the TM jug, blend 30seconds/ speed 3, adding ingredients through the whole in the lid one by one while blades are spinning.
Spread it like batter over the baking paper or mat and spread out evenly. Sprinkle over some salt to taste.
Put tray in oven and cook for 10
mins, then pull out of oven and score with a pizza cutter, put back in oven for a further 20-30 mins or until slightly browned.

You can turn the oven off and leave to crispy up if they're not crunchy enough.

These will keep in a sealed container for a couple weeks.

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

I always felt bad throwing away the discard sourdough starter and this recipe is just brilliant! Incredibly easy and the perfect way to use that discard starter!

I found 80 gr of butter was a bit too much - I put 20-30 gr and that was more than enough. These crackers keep very well for a few days in an airtight container and they're the perfect snack either on their own or with cheese, humus...
I will never have to throw any discard starter again!!!Smile
