Recipe's preparation

    Potato Farls
  1. Add water to bowl and potatoes into steaming basket. Steam for 25 min Varoma Temp sp 3 or untill tender in the middle of potato.

Tip out wanter and roughly dry your your bowl. Add potao to bowl and mix for about 10 sec on sp 3.

Add 200g of flour and all other ingredients and mix for 45 sec on sp 3 or untill a dough forms. It is a sticky dough.

Put the rest of your flour on your Thermomat if you have one or countertop and tip out dough. Knead by hand lightly and form a ball. Using a floured rolling pin roll out into a 9inc circle about a 1/4 inc thick and cut into quarters using your spatula only on your Thermomat.

Sprinkle flour in a skillet or frying pan and cook for 5-10 min each side on medium heat or untill evenly browned then to give it awesome flavour fry with some bacon in a frying pan when ready to serve.

Tip

Traditionally people use a Griddle Pan but i don't have one so just make do with what you have.

Flour quanty can vary on brand and potatoes so have a bit extra.

Don't skimp on the salt as they will be tastless.

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Beautiful, thanks for the recipe! Best recipe I have found. Even my little 3yo Aoife likes it, and she is not a fan of potatoes! I have even used your method and proportions of flour and potatoes without steaming, just with left over mash from the mashed potato recipe from the Everyday Cookbook, and that turns out very nice too.
