Ingredients
Rough Puff Pastry
- 1 portion rough puff pastry, Refer to recipe in Everyday/Basic Cookbook
Filling
- 300 g sweet potat, Peeled and cubed 2-3 cm pieces
- 1 --- Large Onion, Peeled & Halved.
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp cumin seeds
- 140 g frozen peas
- 1 red chilli, (finely chopped)
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp garam masala (EDC)
- 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 bunch Fresh Coriander, chopped
- 1 bunch fresh mint
- 1/2 lemon's worth of juice

Make Filling First
Chop coriander and mint Sp 5, 3 sec and set aside
Chop sweet potato Speed 4, 7 secs and set aside
Chop onion and chilli speed 6, 3 sec and set aside with sweet potato
Don’t worry about washing bowl – just scrape it clean
Add oil and cumin seeds to bowl cook varoma, 1 min, speed 1.5
Add reserved veg and frozen peas, sugar, spices and cook 100deg, 10 min, reverse speed 1
Set aside to cool completely
This is when I make the pastry
Heat oven to 200deg
Once cool stir through the lemon juice and fresh herbs
Spoon 1 tsp of mixture onto 5cm squares of pastry, brush edges with egg wash and seal tightly then score with fork.
Arrange on baking paper lined trays, brush with more egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds
Bake 15-20 mins or until puffy and golden
Tip
Enjoy hot with chutney or let them cool and serve at room temperature. Can also be frozen.

This was great and quite easy! Also used the left over filling for our tacos
