Ingredients

Banana oat & nut biscuits

  • 250 grams plain flour, Or gluten free plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 270 grams rolled oats
  • 150 grams macadamia nuts
  • 150 grams almonds
  • 200 grams Butter
  • 200 grams brown sugar
  • 200 grams raw sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 A banana

Recipe's preparation

    banana, oat & nut biscuits
  1. Preheat oven to 190oC ( 170oC fan) and line baking trays

    with baking paper.

    - Place flour, baking soda, salt, rolled oats & nuts into TM

    bowl and blend. Sp6 for 5sec., set aside..

    - add sugar and butter and blend. Sp 4 for 10sec.

    - With the lid on and measuring cup out, set to sp3 for

    10 sec.

    - add the eggs one at a time. 

    - Again, with the lid on and measuring cup out.

    Add half the dry mix and combine, using the

    spatula for assistance. Sp3 for 30 sec.

    - Again, lid on, MC out. Add  half of the

    remaining dry mix and the

    banana and combine,using the spatula for

    assistance. sp3 for 30sec

    - Add the remaining dry mix. Sp3 for  30sec.

    - Spoon the mixture onto the trays, with

    reasonable spacing. ( a medium sized biscuit )

    - Bake for 20-25 minutes or until lightly brown.

    Allow to cool on the tray for 2-3 minutes before placing

    them on a wire cooling rack.

Tip

You could halve this recipe easily.

They do freeze well tmrc_emoticons.;)

    Fab biscuits thanks for sharing the recipe, added Maple syrup instead of brown sugar and added vanilla essence. Makes a huge batch which I liked.

    Really tasty, thanks for sharing! I used gf flour and only about 1/3 of the sugar, and some honey, as well as a whole banana. Want to try some cinnamon in there next time!

    I ran out of oats so used some wheatbix.........it worked well, yummy.

    Wow! These are great.  Based on the comments I decided to half the mixture and they were fantastic.  I struggle to find great tasting healthy treats...although next time I think I will try swapping some of the sugar for honey. Given how fast they were eaten perhaps I will cook the full mixture next time

    These biscuits are delicious! They would also make great lactation cookies by adding brewer's yeast and replacing a small amount of the nuts with flaxseed meal.

    Hi, after removing the oats dry mix, then you add both sugar and butter.

    Ummmmm...... there's butter and sugar in the ingredients but I can't find where to put it in in the recipe?????

    Yes it can be, as the recipe makes quite a lot . It's best to add it in three parts using the spatular for assistance; otherwise halving the recipe is much easier. I like to make a large batch and freeze them.  tmrc_emoticons.)

    These are delish!!  But i did find it that whilst mixing it would be too heavy. and needed to half the mixture to get it mixed well. But YUMMM!!
