  • 1 level teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 430 grams buttermilk

Recipe's preparation

    Combine the dry ingredients
  1. Put the wholemeal flour and baking soda into mixing bowl and comine Speed 1 for 20 seconds.

  2. Add the buttermilk and combine Speed 1 for 20 seconds.  Should just come together.

  3. Tip out onto Thermomat or floured surface and mold into round "cob like" loaf.

  4. Bake in preheated over 230 degrees for 35 - 45 minutes.

    Should sound hollow when bottom is tapped

    Oh I am sorry this didn't work out for you.  The only thing I can suggest is maybe try at a lower temperature, say 200 degrees.  Ovens can vary quite a lot.  The loaf measured about 20cm (size of a cake tin).  Try again and let me know how you go.

    I'm not sure but I must've done something wrong. 35-45mins burnt the bread to a crisp at 230c And the inside wasn't cooked. I cooked it again for another 20 mins with foil and still not cooked. id love to know what I did wrong xx
