I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
1. Place flour, salt and butter in the TM and mix, 5 seconds/speed 5
2. Add golden syrup, egg and milk. Mix 10 seconds/speed 4.
3. Scrape down sides and mix again 10 seconds/speed 4.
4. Place 6-12 dessertspoonfuls of mixture into the top Varoma tray, leaving a gap between each to allow for spreading. Set aside.
1. Add all the syrup ingredients to TM (Do not clean bowl after making dumplings)
2. Place Varoma with dumplings into position and cook Varoma/15minutes/speed 1.
3. Place dumplings in serving bowls, pour sauce over each and serve.
4. May be served with cream if desired.

Syrup
Tip
It's best not to clean the TM bowl between making the dumplings and syrup as the flour mix helps to thicken the sauce.
The sauce should also be fairly runny so it can soak into the dumplings when serving.
based on feedback received I'd suggest using white SR flour only so the dumplings are lighter and rise nicely

Recipe is created for
TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Comments
These were quick and easy and using the exact recipe, the dumplings were fine. But nothing beats doing them on the campfire!
Please for the love of dumplings change your recipe to what people in the comments suggest. (make the milk to 80gm and SR Flour to 200gm and cooked for 17 minutes on speed 3). I made the mistake of not reading the comments and these were a sloppy uncooked mess.
These were delicious!! I did what others said and made the milk to 80gm and SR Flour to 200gm and cooked for 17 minutes on speed 3. Honestly so good I already can't wait to make them again!!
wonderful I made it for my dad who has raved they are better than his mothers so high praise! I did do the commented suggestion of more flour less milk and it was perfect
This recipe (if done well) is 5/5 !!! It is amazing OMG!! You have to do 200g flour and 80g milk then it's perfecto chefs kiss.
please update the recipe and I'll update to 5 stars
Missed the step of not cleaning the mixing bowl. Maybe change the order of steps in you recipe for the second part, just used to cookidoo telling me firstly not to clean the mixing bowl before the next step.
These were terrible .... just a runny mess !
I added extra flour but it was just warm slop
Not impressed
They were ok. Used more flour and less milk as suggested. Think I prefer the texture of stove cooked ones.
Degsie_aande:I had the same issue, why did it not cook?
Followed the tip with flour and milk and they were perfect! Enjoyed by all.
