Recipe's preparation

    Instructions
  1. Add all ingredients to bowl & cook 8 minutes, 90°, speed 4.
  2. If after 8 minutes your custard isn't thick, cook for an extra few minutes. In cooler weather, custard can take longer to cook.

Tip

If you want a thinner custard you can simply half the eggs & custard powder/cornflour.

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

I never review recipes normally but just had to review this one. I don't usually like custard but can't stop eating this one! I used 60g of sugar but could reduce it more as it's still sweet. The kids loved it too, great after school snack! I can see this being a regular on our house now. I might even try some tips that others have said, I don't always have cream so keen to try just milk.

Really yummy custard, I used one egg, used 500g milk and no cream, the full amount of custard powder, and about 80g sugar, it was very thick and tasted amazing. I will probably put a bit less custard powder in next time though.

So yummy, one of the best custards on the recipe community. I use all milk and no cream if none on hand, and it turns out very thick still.

Fantastic recipe! I use the custard powder instead of the cornflour and it's the perfect consistency for a fruit flan or profiteroles tmrc_emoticons.)
