Ingredients

  • 250 g onion
  • 3 clove garlic
  • 200 g carrots
  • 250 g Celery
  • 25 g olive oil
  • 800 g gravy beef, diced into 1.5cm cubes
  • 1 tbsp Dried Parsley Flakes
  • 125 g red wine
  • 400 g Tin crushed tomatoes
  • 200 g water
  • 50 g tomato paste
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 500 g gnocchi
  • 2 medium zucchini, finely diced
  • 20 g plain flour, (Optional)
  • 50 g water, Extra (Optional)

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place onion, garlic, carrots and celery into the TM bowl. Chop for 3 secs speed 5.

    Scrape down the sides of the bowl.

    Add the olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic for 3 minutes 120 deg speed 1.

    Add  the chopped gravy beef into the bowl.

    Cook for 5 minutes 120 deg Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation"  speed 1.

    Add the dried parsley, red wine, tinned tomatoes, water, tomato paste and bay leaves.

    Cook for 60 minutes  100 deg Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation"  speed 1.

    Note: The bowl volume will be at the maximum mark at the commencement of cooking.

    If the gravy is a little thin, add the flour to the additional water and pour into the bowl. Cook for a further 5 minutes 100 Deg Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation"  speed 1.

    Pour the casserole into a casserole dish to keep warm.

    Cook the gnocchi according to the packet instructions.

    Stir the cooked gnocchi and finely diced zucchini into the casserole.

    Allow to sit for 5 minutes then serve.

    Serve with mashed potatoes and garlic bread.

Tip

For a gluten free option:

Replace the gnocchi with dices potatoes cooked in the varoma for 25 mins before the end cook time, and omit the additional water and flour.

    If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid.
