I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
- Place garlic, ginger and pear into mixing bowl, then chop 3 sec/speed 7. Scrape down sides of mixing bowl with spatula and repeat chopping 3 sec/speed 7.
Add remaining ingredients and cook 30 min/100°C/speed 1, placing simmering basket instead of measuring cup onto mixing bowl lid.
Set sauce aside in a jug and give bowl a quick rinse, then fill halfway with cold water.
Place simmer basket into position and weigh in rice. Turbo 1 x 1 sec
Cook rice for 13min 30 secs/varoma/speed 4.
While this is happening, fry beef in a large frying pan on the stove till browned and cooked, breaking up lumps as it cooks. Add about one third of the sauce and stir through, let it simmer and thicken for a few minutes before adding another third.
When rice is almost done, add veggies to beef in frying pan and stir through till combined and just softened. Add more sauce if required. Divide rice between bowls and top with stir fried beef and vegetables, sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced spring onions to garnish.
Tip
We called this Squid Game Stir Fry because it is korean and easier to prononounce..and more fun....than Bulgogi Beef stir fry
The marinade is the 'korean marinade' from the Flavours of Korea collection on Cookidoo.

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. -

The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
