Cheesy Tuna Mornay
Tip
This is an absolute winner with my 2 toddlers. I add a couple of TBSP blended pureed veggies that i have preprared earlier. You may wish to do this in the Varoma.
While the mornay is cooking I usually cook the corn kernals in a little water in the microwave for 3 minutes.
AT the same time pasta / rice can be boiling on the stove if you want to cut down cooking time.
If I am making this for adults I add parsley at the chopping stage and 2 tsp smooth Dijon mustard at the end.

Recipe is created for
TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Lost this out of my list, so had to go find it again...
there is always alot of variations you can do but i keep it standard..
(maybe only thing i change is with the corn.. try creamed corn..
thats yummy..
thank you... it's a good one
Delicious, quick and easy and the sauce was a good consistency.
Loved it. I always use cornflour in my sauces and the quantity needed no adjustment. I also only had a leek so used that. You could do without the lemon easily. I served with mashed potato on top, more cheese and grilled. may pop some boiled eggs in if I have time next time
This was the recipe most similar to the way I make it on the stove top but no stirring required! I added frozen veggies so cooked for a bit longer and it was great! Definitely a regular in our house
We also added peas and capsicum to the dish. Served it mixed into rice, definately a family fav here. Great texture for people who are on soft diet, or have swallowing issues........
Going to try this tonight. My youngest is autistic and we've really been pushing the veggies to get him to eat healthy meals.
Tonight he can have a break - but I will put the corn in, and maybe some peas and see if he eats that. It's pasta, so I have my fingers crossed. I'll let you know!
