Comments
Thank you everyone for your previous comments, they helped me a lot.
I used just over 600 grams of meat, and in Step 5 cooked for 40 minutes and it was delicious. Potatoes were beautiful and soft (I used three smallish ones).
Additionally due to there being too much content in my TM bowl to fit the TM basket inside the bowl, I combined steps 4 and 5, putting all ingredients in the bowl, then the TM basket on top.
Also I did not have Tamarind and found that a potential substitute is Brown Suger and Lime Juice. So I used 3 tablespoons of Brown Sugar and a squirt of lime juice, and no tamarind.
And I used Almonds instead of peanuts and Olive Oil instead of Peanut Oil.
OK, so I changed the recipe quite a lot.
I served it with brown rice, which actually did an excellent job of soaking up most of the liquid.
Delish!!!!
Will be a regular on my table. Definately needs another 10 - 15 min cooking time. Next time I would only use 1 potator
Yumo! Only thing I changed was halving the oil. A Lot of liquid like others said, was'nt an issue but next time I think I'll add more meat. Hubby loved it
Thank you for sharing your recipe. WOW!!simple to make & very tasty.
I made this recipe last night for dinner but tweeked it a little. I used 650gm of beef & am glad I did as it was still a lot of liquid for the small amount of meat. I also had to boil the potatoes to cook them as the time in the instructions was definately not long enough. I also cooked fresh green beans to serve.
I really liked it!!! (3 stars worth, couldn't change it for some reason)
This was delicious, both my hubby and I really enjoyed it. Tasted like what I had at other places just without it being spicy, which we didn't mind. However next time I will double the meat as 500g was enough for 2 (and would like some for lunch the next day
This is quite yummy although not very spicy, which suits me just fine as I don't like really spicy food. The potatoes took a really long time to cook. I cut them into what I thought was small enough pieces but they still took quite a long time to cook. I put the MC back on when the potatoes didn't cook after 20 minutes and I think that helped cook them. Overall pretty good meal but if you are looking for spice you will need to add your own.
I gave this 2 stars but it could get a few more. I think the ingredients are spot on but the method I am a little unsure of. Firstly fix the typo of 10 deg in step 5. Also 20 minutes for me seemed woefully inadequate for the potato to soften. I put the whole lot in the Le Creuset and slow cooked it for a few hours. Was lovely after that.
Love the taste, my two year old and hubby enjoy this with rice. First time we did this recipe we adjusted the recipe by leaving out most of the coconut milk as we thought there was too much. Second time round we added the full amount. Quite liquid but still tasted good so no complaints!! Yum!! I always go back for seconds!
Had to nearly double cooking time and the end product was very oily
Is cooking temperature after adding potatoes meant to be 10 deg or 100?
thanks
