I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
- Make pastry as per EveryDay Cookbook,
(make 2 batches if you want to cover the pie).
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees
Roll out the pastry to fit a 20-23 cm pie dish
Chop bacon in "Closed lid" for 2 seconds on Speed 5. Spread over pastry.
Mix eggs, cream, salt and pepper in "Closed lid" for 3 seconds on Speed 3. Pour over bacon.
(Cover with 2nd batch of rolled out pastry if using)
Bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
Tip
Serve on its own or with salad if desired.
I made this without pastry, by adding 50gm of plain flour, an extra egg and a total of 300ml of cream. Even quicker and easier that way!!

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. -

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Always Looking for Quick Light Meals on a Sunday Night.
I had this saved in my recipes' file for ages but this was the first time I had made it as I had a lot of eggs I wanted to use up.
I followed the recipe to a T and was not disappointed. The pastry was crisp and short and the filling was light and tasty.
Thanks for a great recipe!
So good! I needed a quick dinner, so searched for egg and bacon pie in recipe community. So tasty and so easy!
Great recipe and easy to add veg. Thanks for sharing!!!
Yummo, added some onion & cheese too
Very tasty. Had some left over sun dried tomatoes that I added & a little bit of grated parmesan on top. I used the very short, short crust pastry (made with yoghurt, butter & flour). Awesome
So easy and tastes great too. Will def make this again, thanks Kirrilly!
