Lovely meal. I found the risotto needed to cook for a little longer.

Great meal to use up simple ingredients.

I used a small brown onion and a spring onion, 1 shank and 3 neck chops, and the whole tin of tomatoes with less water.
Boiled water makes the cooking time quicker. Shank was slightly undercooked when cutting meat off adding to the mix but it finished in the bowl

    I’ll make it again

The risotto was excellent, but the lamb shanks took forever to steam (they were large ones).  Next time I'll either buy smaller shanks or do more cuts through the meat to the bone.  I added some mushrooms as well.  I also used beef stock rather than vege stock paste.

Thank you I'm hoping for a main meal. 3 kids and 2 adults. I've steamed an extra shank so fingers crossed

Are you serving it as a side or a meal?

I've served a family of 4 and had leftovers, also used as a side for a few nights with leftovers. It makes 2 litres.

Hi just wondering how many this serves?

first time i've cooked shanks in the thermie.. very easy and tasty. Will def make again. I substituted pumpkin for sweet potato and will add a few more veggies such as  mushies and zucchini next time. May also reduce the liquid a touch when adding the alborio rice. i would also reduce the amount of time for the lamb a bit as wel - 27 mins maybe?  wasn't as tender as i would have liked, but still lovely.. Loved the flavour and will make again. Thanks for posting tmrc_emoticons.)
