I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
It's wiser to prepare the filling before cooking the mielie meal
Grate the follwing:
Bacon - chop (not too finely) for 3 secs, speed 3
Scrape down the sides & chop for a further 2 secs, speed 3
Set aside
Mushrooms - chop for 2 secs, speed 3
Set aside
Cheese - chope for 5 secs, speed 7
Set aside
Onion - chop for 3 secs, speed 5
Add the bacon & mushrooms back into the bowl with the onion
Season with salt & pepper
Add the butter & olive oil & saute for 5 secs, 100 degrees, speed 1
Once cooked, set aside, wash & dry the bowl
Turn the oven onto 180 degrees
Add 1000g of boiling water in the TM bowl with salt & butter & bring to the boil for 25 mins / varoma / speed 2
(While it's cooking, add the 600g of water to the mielie meal & stir all the dry meal until it becomes a paste)
At 20 mins / turn the heat to 90 degrees & through the hole in the lid, with the blades continuing to turn, add the mielie meal paste
Allow to continue to cook. After 15 mins, scrape downt the sides & continue to cook
Butter your chosen pie dish
Put a layer of mielie meal on the bottom of the dish
Cover the mielie meal with a few tablespoons of corn kernals & chopped tomatoes
Then put a layer of the mushrooms, onions & bacon
Then put the next layer of mielie meal, continued with the toppings
Once all the topping are on, pour over the cream (I used a knife to make a few cuts to make sure it gets to the bottom) & sprinkle over the cheese.
Bake for 45 mins - 1 hour until cheese is golden brown

Recipe is created for
TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
