I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
- Remove puff pastry sheets from freezer and separate into single sheets and place on the bench/table to thaw.
- Preheat oven 200 degrees. Line 2 standard baking trays with either oven thermomats (available from The Mix Shop) or baking paper and set aside.
- Place 1 brown onion (halved),1 green apple cored not peeled cut in quarters, 1 large carrot cut in chunks, 1 medium zucchini, cut in chunks in the mixing bowl
- insert MC into mixing bowl lid and chop 5 secs, speed 5.
- Add 500g mince beef, 1 egg and mix 20 secs, reverse, speed 4. You can use spatula through the hole in the mixing bowl lid to help the mixture get around the blades.
- Cut each sheet of pastry in half. Place some mixture onto each pastry half and shape into sausage shape, lengthways on the pastry. roll pastry around the mixture to form logs. Once you have logs, cut into desired size (I recommend into 5 x bite size sausage rolls per log. Repeat with all remaining mixture.
- Using a patry brush, paint sausage rools with egg wash (1 beaten egg) or a little milk and then sprinkle them with seeds of choice (eg poppy or sesame) if desired.
- Transfer onto thermomat on an oven tray and bake for 30 mins 200 degrees. Serve warm with homemade tomato ketchup (see The Basic Cookbook) or tomato relish or fruit chutney. Deeeeeelicious! Find me on Facebook and Instagram "Cater with Kate"
Tip
Make your own puff pastry to use instead! See The Basic Cookbook.
Make your own Tomato Ketchup from the basic cookbook or Red Onion Relish to serve with these. So good!
Happy cooking!

Recipe is created for
TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
