Ingredients

Bread Dough

  • 280 grams water, Lukewarm
  • 2 level teaspoons Bakers yeast
  • 600 grams baker's flour
  • 1 level teaspoon salt
  • 1 level tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 level tablespoon icing sugar, (Powdered sugar)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg, Extra, for glazing, optional

Recipe's preparation

    Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 50C or 40-50 fan forced

  2. Oil & line a bread pan or baking tray

  3. Bread Dough
  4. Put 80 grams of the water and the yeast in the TM. Mix 2 mins/37C/speed 2.

  5. Add the remaining ingredients except one egg. Mis 1 min/37C//Closed lid"Closed lid" /Dough mode"Dough mode" .

  6. Remove & shape the dough into a ball or loaf. Stir the remaining egg lightly. Place the dough in a baking tray or loaf tin. Glaze the loaf with the remaining egg. Place in the oven at 60C or 50 C fan forced for 20 minutes until doubled in size.

  7. Baking the Bread
  8. Turn the oven to 200C then bake for a further 20-40 minutes, until golden brown & hollow sounding when tapped beneath.

Tip

Sprinkle with sesame or other seeds & decorate as desired.

    Hi! Add one egg at step 4 with the other ingredients. The second egg is used for glazing the loaf once you have the final shape, & it makes the bread a nice shiny golden colour. You can add seeds after you glaze it for a dicferent look.

    I made this tonight, very yummy!  Could you please clarify the part about adding the egg.  I took the dough out and shaped it but then wasn't sure how to add the egg so put the dough back in the TMX with egg.
