Very good recipe. I think I'll try it with coconut milk next time and some more veggies.
Very easy. Used 1/2 can coconut milk and water(650g liquid) Added carrot, ginger, chilli, curry leaves with onion.
My family loved this. I added fresh curry leaves and used half a tin of coconut cream and only added water to 650g. I also cooked for an additional 5 min.
My family and I are come back to this recipe time and time again. My work colleagues also love it! Thanks for sharing, it's been a favourite for two years now.
Yum!!! It's a hit!

This is my 'go to' recipe to make for friends and family if they are having a rough time for whatever reason. So simple, quick and TASTY!! every person I've made it for has said it is one of the best dahls they've had. So easy to whip up at short notice with pantry staples. How I do it...
1. omit the chilli flakes (kids 🙄)
2. Add a dash of fresh or jar ginger.
3. I read previous comments and always do the liquid with a big can of coconut milk then up to 750g with water.
So creamy and hearty on a cold winters night.
This was great. So simple to make and not a lot of ingredients. Thanks for sharing. I'll be making this again for sure!
My husband couldn't stop raving about how much he loved this dahl. So delicious & easy to make! I used tin tomatoes instead & served with sour cream & garlic bread.
pallap: Also found very runny so I drained out most of the liquid. Very tasty. Will definately use coconut milk and less water next time
Nice but too runny
