Recipe's preparation

    Garlic and Ginger Meatballs
  1. Place bread into TM bowl and chop 10 seconds, speed 6. Set aside.

  2. Place coriander leaves into TM bowl and chop 4 seconds, speed 7. Scrape down the bowl with spatula.

  3. Add garlic and ginger to TM bowl and chop 4 seconds, speed 7. Scrape down the bowl with spatula.

  4. Add all other ingredients except sweet chilli sauce and mix 10 seconds, speed 5. Scrape down bowl and repeat 10 seconds, speed 5.

  5. Roll into walnut size balls and place on lightly greased varoma tray and dish.  I put 20 on the tray and 10 in the dish.  I roll the left over mixture into 20 balls and freeze flat on a tray before transferring to a ziplock bag for future use.

  6. Wash bowl and add 1L of water.  Place varoma on top and steam 20 minutes, Varoma temp, speed 1.

  7. Brush with sweet chilli sauce.  Enjoy!

Tip

You can also bake these meatballs in the oven.  Place 2cm apart on on a tray on baking paper. 180 degrees for 12-15 minutes.  Leave to cool for 5 minutes before brushing with the sweet chilli sauce.

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Have just made these for a birthday party tomorrow (got to do these things ahead of time), I am sure they will heat up beautifully in the oven.  They are delicious, I did add 1 long red chilli - deseeded for those people who aren't happy with the bite - and decided they might be better if I cooked in the oven.  The whole steamed meat thing I am still not sure about.  Most definitely will make these again with the seeds in the chilli.  Have to stop myself eating them all today!

I have made these twice now and they are so yummy! The first batch I made for a friend and they were lucky to leave the house lol This time they are for us and I will be doing them with some yummy stir fry veg and noodles.

I will add I just put them in the oven and I have only used beef mince as that is all I had.

Love it! I added carrots and mushrooms, parsley instead of coriander and it was a hit! Doing it again with chicken mince!

Cooking 10 Thanks this was really good quick and easy which I really like.  I don't like coriander so I used parsley instead as I had it in the fridge.  I also browned them quickly in a frying pan but that was only for my husbands preference.  I served them with veg and pasta and left some without brushing with sweet chilli sauce for the little ones.

OMG loved these! I made them for dinner (just put salad with them and rolled them a bit bigger). After accidently missing out the egg they still turned out great and would definitley make again, either as dinner or party food tmrc_emoticons.D
