Ingredients
Slice Base
- 500 g plain biscuits, Like vanilla wine etc. Can be made using GF biscuits
- 130 g dessicated coconut
- 140 g dried apricots
- 90 g dark chocolate
Condensed milk
- 40 g Butter
- 125 g water
- 180 g sugar
- 110 g milk powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 200 g Butter
- 60 g orange juice
Icing
- 1-2 oranges, and zest
- 200 g icing sugar
- 10-20 g Milk
- 15 g orange juice, freshly squeezed

- Line a slice tin with baking paper
- Weigh in biscuits and crush for 4 seconds speed 6. Tip biscuits into a LARGE bowl
- Place Thermomix bowl back into postion and put lid ontop. Place large bowl with biscuits ontop and weigh in coconut. Set aside
- Add dried apricots to thermomix bowl and chop for 3 seconds speed 7. Add to biscuit & coconut mix
- Weigh in chocolate. Use Turbo mode for 1 second. Add chocolate to biscuit, coconut & apricot mixture. Clean and dry mixing bowl
- You can skip this part and tip a tin of condensed milk to the Thermomix bowl. If you are doing this you will need to warm the condensed milk and butter for 2 minutes 60.C speed 3 or until melted
- To make the condensed milk weigh in 40g butter and 125g water. Using simmering basket in place of measuring cup cook 3 minutes 120.C speed 2
- Weigh in sugar, milk powder and salt. Put measuring cup back in place and blend 30 seconds speed 10
- Scrape sides and immediately weigh in 200g butter. Speed 2.5 for 1 minute. The heat from the condense milk with melt the butter
- Zest your orange (this will be decorative on the icing) and squeeze in 60g of juice to the condensed milk & butter mixture. 4 seconds speed 3
- Give the base mixture a mix to combine, then add the contents of the thermomix bowl. Mix really well and then pack into the slice tin. Refridgerate. Clean and dry mixing bowl
- Weigh in 200g icing sugar (or mill your on sugar into icing sugar), milk and freshly squeezed orange juice. Mix for 3 seconds speed 3. Scrape the sides and repeat mixing step
- If needed thin icing with more milk. Spread over refridgerated base and sprinkle with orange zest
- Refridgerate until set, then slice into portions

You can easily make this GF by using GF biscuits in the base
For a lemon twist, swap out the orange for lemon and also use white chocolate instead of dark chocolate
Make sure the icing is set before cutting

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
