I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
- Place milk & butter in bowl, mix 37 degrees/2 minutes/speed 1
Add in egg to milk mixture and mix 5 seconds/speed 4
In this order - Add in Yeast, flour, caster sugar & salt. Mix 6seconds/speed6 to combine, then 3 minutes/knead
Place dough on a Thermomat or lightly greased bowl and cover. Keep in a warm place to proof for 1 hour or until dough has doubled in size. This can take longer if its cold.
Once the dough is proofed, knock down on Thermomat or floured surface and cut dough in half. Roll each half into log, then cut each log into 4 pieces (8 in total).
Flatten a piece slightly, then pull one corner to the middle and rotate dough. Pull next corner to middle, rotate, repeat until you've pulled 4-5 times and have no corners left. Roll gently between hands then place on Theromat or floured surface and let proof for a further 15 minutes.
Heat airfyer on 185 degrees. Place donuts in airfryer and cook 5 minutes or until lightly golden.
While cooking, Take 1/2 cup of jam filling and heat in microwave for 30-60 seconds. Melt 75g butter in Thermo or microwave. Place some caster sugar in a bowl for rolling.
Once cooked, using a ssteak knife, pierce a small hole in side of donut to the middle. Using a nurofen syringe (or something similar) syringe jam filling into donut. Then using a pastry brush, brush with melted butter then roll through sugar.
Eat hot and enjoy!
This recipe can be doubled for a larger batch.
Bakels is stocked at cake suppliers or can be bought online. If you can't get Bakels rasplum jam, Dollar sweets make a similar one. Strawberry jam will work but won't have that market taste.

Tip
You can use any flavor jam you like, but raspberry is generally what they use for traditional hot jam donuts

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. -

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
