Ingredients

Meatballs

  • 250 g Beef mince
  • 250 g pork mince
  • 2 slices bread
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 40 g Parmesan cheese
  • 2 sprigs basil
  • 1 egg

Sauce

  • 3 sprigs basil
  • 700 g tomato passata
  • 400 g Tinned tomatoes
  • 20 g balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 500 g spaghetti

Recipe's preparation

    Spaghetti Polpette
  1. 1. Add bread to mxing bowl. Mix 6 sec, sp 8. Put aside in separate bowl
    2. Add garlic and parmesan to the bowl. Chop 10 sec sp 8
    3. Add all remaining meatball ingredients including reserved breadcrumbs and 2 tbs of the passata to the bowl and mix 30 sec, reverse, speed 4 until well combined
    4. Roll tablespoons of the mixture into balls and place in the varoma. Set varoma aside
    5. Add all the sauce ingredients to the bowl, except the spaghetti. Place varoma in position. Cook for 20 mins, varoma, sp 1.
    6. Serve meatballs and sauce over cooked spaghetti and top with extra parmesan cheese and fresh basil

    If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid.
