amybrentnall - I do wonder what you may have done differently to have a dish like this become inedible? We make this regularly and find it delicious, as have many others. Perhaps it's just your taste? Either way, sorry you didn't enjoy it and I hope you find a suitable replacement.
Made this recipe. Followed it. Was inedible. If I was to make it again I would sauté the onion and garlic together before adding the ricotta and spinach etc. Recipe was easy but have had to scrape my meal back into lasagne dish I cooked it in and put back into the oven in the hope the onion cooks more and therefore becomes edible. A bit disappointing.
Simple, tasty, and easier than expected!
I used homemade lasagne sheets, which were smaller than the recipe required (we made 14 cannelloni!), but worked well. Rather than tomato sauce, I made a quick bolognese (beef mince, onion, canned tomatoes, tomato paste, mixed herbs) to pour over the top to add some meat to the dish, and the flavours worked very well together, feeding five adults (with no sides, just 3-ish tubes each topped with bolognese). The onion in the cannelloni was slightly undercooked after 40 minutes, but not enough for us to stop eating and cook it again. A few steps involved, but simple ones - adding this one to the favourites list!

Just wondering what size cans for the whole tomatoes??
Delicious and takes less than 10 minutes to make filling, sauce and fill the pasta sheets. I roughly chopped the spinach first. Will definitely make again.
