Recipe's preparation

  1. Add salt, flour, yeast, olive oil and water to TMX bowl in that order.

Mix on speed 4 for 10 seconds.

Knead on interval for 3 minutes.

Let the dough rest in the TMX bowl for 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, knead on interval for 1 minute.

    --

Remove dough from TMX bowl to a bowl and thermomat or floured surface.  **see tips section**

Flour and roll out individual pita breads. Do them thinner than you think, as the yeast makes them rise.

Cook on a dry frying pan for 2-3 minutes, medium heat, each side or until slightly browned.

Wrap in a teatowel to keep warm.

Tip

** tip **

Yes this dough is sticky! Its meant to be tmrc_emoticons.) Put it from the thermomix into a bowl and pull out small rounds of dough. Use extra flour while rolling and this will perfect them.

Thank you to Amy Nunn for the second photo which looks much nicer than the original tmrc_emoticons.)

    Hiya!

I have just tried this recipe and found that my uncooked dough would not hold its' shape. All of the edges kept trying to fold back into itself when I was trying to flatten it. Maybe it is because the dough is so sticky which I found quite challenging. I would be so grateful for any tips or advice on this. Thanks.

The kids loved them. I made these ahead of time and they were still perfect. My only issue is not being able to make them thin enough due to the stickiness of the dough but they were still great and I will make again.

Great recipe. Will definitely make again. I only got 9 wraps instead of the recommended 12.

    Turned leftovers into Turkish bread!
I only made a couple of flat breads to have with a curry last night. I put the rest of the dough in the fridge overnight. The next morning I tipped it out onto a lined tray without trying to knock any air out. Drizzled some oil, salt and Italian spice mix and baked at 220c. Turned into a ripper Turkish bread.
