I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
- Add onion, garlic & parsley to bowl & blitz 3 seconds, speed 7.
- Add oil & saute 5 minutes, 120°, speed 1.
- Add diced tomatoes, gravy powder, worcestershire, vegetable stock, sugar & water to bowl.
- Insert simmering basket with diced potatoes into bowl.
- Set Varoma in place & add sausages on the bottom level, & vegetables on the top level. Cook 30 minutes, Varoma, speed 2. PLEASE NOTE - IF YOU WOULD LIKE YOUR VEGGIES COOKED FOR A SHORTER AMOUNT OF TIME, SIMPLY LEAVE THE TOP LAYER OUT & PLACE THEM IN AT A LATER STAGE OF COOKING.
- Insert butterfly, & add steamed potatoes, butter, milk, salt & pepper. Mash 20 seconds, speed 3. Scrape down. Mash an additional 10 seconds, speed 3 if needed.
- Voila dinner done! Once plated up I fill the bowl with water above the blades & turn to speed 10, hitting reverse a few times. This can now sit & soak while I enjoy dinner.

Recipe is created for
TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Absolutely LOVED this tomato & onion gravy
stinimende: do you think it would work with almond milk?
petsabound: varoma temp.
This is brilliant. Thank you for sharing. Fed the five of us quite nicely. I'm considering putting an apple in with the tomato onion gravy for a bit of a deviled sausages taste. Do you think it would work?
Sorry I'm new to this, but what is steaming temp?
