Ingredients

Milk loaf

  • 350 g Milk
  • 50 g Butter, chopped
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp dried instant yeast
  • 650 g bread / baker's flour
  • 2 tsp bread improver
  • 1 tsp brewing sugar, optional
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1.5 tsp salt

Recipe's preparation

    How to:
  1. Grease a large loaf tin.

    1. Combine the milk, butter and sugar 37°C/2 mins/sp2.

    2. Add the remaining ingredients in the order listed.

    3. Bring the speed slowly to sp7 and blend briefly 20 secs.

    4. Knead Dough mode"Dough mode" 5 mins. Add a little water to moisten if the mixture seems dry.

    5. Tip onto a greased mat, covered bowl and rest/prove for 30 mins.

    6. Punch down and shape as desired.

    7. Cover again and leave to rise for a further 30 mins or until it reaches the top of the loaf tin, or is double in size.

    Preheat the oven to 190°C.

    8. Bake for 25 mins or until cooked when tested.

Tip

A delicious, soft white loaf the is equally delicious fresh in sandwiches or toasted.

    This is by far my favourite load to make, turns out perfect everytime and the family love it. It makes an absolutely stunning loaf!
