Ingredients

Sauce

  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 200 g button mushrooms
  • 1 bunch silverbeet - just the leaves
  • 1 can diced tomatoes, 400g can
  • 50 g fresh basil
  • 100 g Lite Cream
  • 20 g toasted pine nuts

Recipe's preparation

    Pasta Sauce
  1. Chop the onion and garlic - speed 4 for 6 secs.  Add the olive oil and saute at 100 degrees on speed 2 for 5 mins.

  2. Add the mushrooms and silverbeet and chop on speed 4 for 3 secs.  Cook at 100 degrees on speed 2 reverse for 2 mins.

  3. Add the tomatoes and basil and season well.  Cook at 100 degrees on speed 2 reverse for 5 mins until the silverbeet is cooked.

  4. Weigh in the cream and the pine nuts and mix on speed 2, reverse to combine.

  5. Serve on your favourite pasta.

Tip

- you can use spinach instead of silverbeet

- make your own pasta in the TM - it tastes amazing !!

    Very nice, I added a shake of mixed herbs and a sachet of tomato paste. I also added spinach instead of silverbeet. Perfect amount of sauce for 500gms of pasta. Thanks for sharing.

    Very nice.  I didn't chop the mushrooms in the thermomix as they get too small.  I sliced and added towards the end and let sit in thermoserver for a little while to flavour.  I ealso used a jar of basil pesto as I didn't have fresh basil or pine nuts.  Yummy!
