I'm cooking this today

Recipe's preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 160 C and line two baking trays with baking paper

Chop garlic cloves 3 seconds / speed 7

Add almonds and mill 10 seconds / speed 9

    Add all other ingredients

Mix 30 seconds / speed 2 until the mixture forms a thick paste

Spread paste onto the two baking trays, into the shape of rectangles and to 5mm thickness.

    Bake 25 minutes

Remove from oven, cut into portions and turn over.

    Bake another 25 minutes

The crackers should be firm by this stage; if not keep in the oven a bit longer (will depend on exact thickness of the cracker)

    Allow to cook completely

Tip

You could use fresh herbs in this recipe as well.

This makes a lovely healthy snack for lunchboxes

Made these for a take a plate last night with the Capsicum & sundried tomato dip out of 'Everyday Cooking' - HUGE HIT!
    Thank you for the recipe!

I had run out of Chia seeds when I went to the pantry, so substituted with linseeds, which worked really well.
I used fan bake because of the two trays at different heights, and dropped temp to 150 (usually works in my oven), but next time I would leave at 160, as I had to cook an extra 15 mins to get them nice and crunchy.

    Taste was amazing.

I felt that the recipe was slightly too big. Perhaps the quantitpies need to be reduced slightly as the Thermie as unable to mix the dough successfully despite me stirring with spatula, trying to turn mixture over to get to the bottom and increasing mixing time. I eventually had to tip mixture out on to paper and mix it through manually until all moistrue was absorbed into mixture.

Have just noticed that the recipe was created for TM31 so perhaps bowl is slightly bigger.

My son loves these and they taste exactly like the organic crackers we bought in Costco tmrc_emoticons.)
